Fellowship Community Church, is looking to hire a full-time, Family Pastor/Associate Pastor whose desire is to disciple children, youth and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our church and in the community of Midland Texas.
Midland is at the center of the West Texas Oil Country, the Permian Basin. Fellowship Community Church (FCC) is a small, well-established congregation of around 50 to 60 in attendance weekly. We have a growing children’s ministry that needs to be developed, where the focus will be on discipleship. We presently have a nursery and Children’s Church available for the children of young families during our worship service on Sunday mornings. We also have a youth group that meets every Tuesday evening.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking someone whose calling is to minister to children, youth and families. Some of the main responsibilities will be to grow ministry strategies that focus on the unique needs of parents and their children, as they move through each stage of development. The candidate needs to be someone who has a team mentality and will collaborate with the Senior Pastor and those already working with the children and youth.
As Associate Pastor you will preach on occasions and work with the Senior Pastor in providing pastoral care to our church family. Discipleship is the key to this position where children, youth and families are being equipped in hearing God through His word, devotion to prayer, reaching the lost and fellowship with other believers.
This position will require organization of children and youth events that will serve as both discipleship and outreach into the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for a mature Christian man with a growing and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through the empowering work of the Holy Spirit. He will be one who is devoted to being anchored in God’s word and continually filled with the Holy Spirit. There should be a calling upon his life for pastoral ministry, especially to the children and youth. It would be good to have someone with at least 5 years’ experience working with children, youth and families. It is a ministry where there needs to be a genuine love for those he is ministering to.
A candidate for this position needs to be licensed or ordained through the C&MA or willing to meet the licensing and ordination requirements within the C&MA.
The person needs to know he is part of a team and will serve under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and the Elder Board of FCC.
Although we are looking for a man who is called to be the Family Pastor and an Associate Pastor, it is important that his wife be fully supportive of his ministry, an active member of the church and present when possible.
SALARY:
This is a full-time position with a salary that will allow the person called to focus on the ministry at hand. Medical Insurance with the Alliance will be part of the package if needed.
